Hannover Messe 2018

GP JOULE presents renewable, digital and smartly integrated solutions by means of practical models for industry, enterprises and entire regions at the leading trade fair "Energy"

Reußenköge/Hannover – At this year's leading Hannover Messe trade fair "Energy", GP JOULE demonstrates best practices for sectoral cross-linkage. The company with its headquarters in North Frisia has been designing and building 100 per cent renewable energy solutions for ten years: at the trade fair it provides a vivid display of the production, infrastructural set-up and efficient use of renewable electric power and how these elements are interlinked. Firstly there is the example of the company's economic and functional electric fleet scheme; secondly, its activities in converting renewable power into green hydrogen, and the use of the latter in transportation and industry.

At Stand K50, GP JOULE is situated right alongside the trade fair's sun-drenched partner country – Mexico. In this way, GP JOULE is able to highlight its core competence as an experience solar power project planner in view of the economically attractive potential of photovoltaic energy production – both nationally and internationally. In the first three months of 2018, GP JOULE has already commissioned PV parks in the USA and Canada with an output of some ten megawatts. In countries and regions with high wind or snow load zones and with difficult terrain surfaces and soils in particular, GP JOULE offers a very robust and smart tracking unit for yield-boosting optimisation of open-space photovoltaic systems: the GP JOULE Phlegon Mover is a single-axis tracker which follows the course of the sun, thereby allowing optimum alignment at all times of day which makes for up to 25 per cent additional yield without significant additional costs.

With proven power-to-gas expertise, GP JOULE is already excellently set to link renewable power with the transportation and industry sectors: this is also demonstrated in Hannover. Firstly, the company presents its joint hydrogen project for local public transportation in North Frisia – a model which is internationally transferable and scalable for the smart integration of a decentralised hydrogen infrastructure. The concept: joint regional production, transportation, processing and marketing of hydrogen, thereby generating added value from renewable energies on a local basis. One obvious step here is to expand rail traffic in Schleswig-Holstein by replacing diesel locomotives with hydrogen-powered motor coaches. GP JOULE's Hannover trade fair stand in 2018 will thus also include a special highlight: a partial replica of a hydrogen-powered train in the colours of Germany's most northern federal state. Secondly, GP JOULE will be presenting its expertise as a system supplier of low-cost hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources. The fact that GP JOULE regulates power production, electromobility, power consumption and hydrogen output according to demand means that the total cost to customers for hydrogen, power and heat is optimised.

Solutions for the mobility of the future: the GP JOULE CONNECT e-fleet solution rounds off the company's range of exhibits at Hannover Messe.

The e-fleet scheme enables companies to switch to electric mobility simply and affordably. Charging speed adapted to user needs and an integrated load management system ensures optimum use of the power supply. Customers benefit from GP JOULE's longstanding experience and dense charging network, with more than 7,000 charging stations throughout the whole of Germany.

Once again this year, GP JOULE's large-scale multimedia Integrated Energy Showcase will also enhance the Integrated Energy Plaza – the walk-in showroom at the centre of the "Energy" trade fair in Hall 27. This gives visitors a hands-on opportunity to experience how a power generation turnaround can become genuine energy turnaround involving the heat and mobility market – in particular making use of power-to-gas technology, i.e. hydrogen as a key element.

The obvious choice for the highly efficient production of green hydrogen is the megawatt-class PEM electrolyser developed by GP JOULE's subsidiary H-TEC SYSTEMS and made in Germany. H-TEC SYSTEMS has its own stand – B54 in Hall 27: here it will be displaying its PEM electrolysis stacks and electrolysers for sectoral cross-linkage as well as efficient, decentralised H₂ production from electricity – especially relevant to industrial hydrogen clients and for power upgrading.
