A visit on the subject of the energy turnaround. SPD Member of Parliament Dr. Nina Scheer at GP JOULE

Reußenköge, 11 August 2020
Prominent environmental expert: As part of her series of energy turnaround talks, SPD member of parliament Dr. Nina Scheer visited GP JOULE in Reußenköge this morning. The energy and climate politician was particularly interested in the green hydrogen eFarm joint project and the e-mobility concepts of the group. "Discussions with players in the energy turnaround process have made it clear in practical terms where political action needs to be taken, for example with regard to the production of hydrogen, but also to ensure the accelerated expansion of renewable energies with regional added value,"says Dr. Nina Scheer, who is also committed to environmental and climate protection as a honorary director of the Herrmann Scheer Foundation. Olde Oldsen, SPD councillor for North Frisia as well as member of the environment and energy committee and mayor of the municipality of Langenhorn, also took part in the round table discussion with Dr. Fabian Sösemann (head of energy management at GP JOULE).
Climate-friendly in every area

At the GP JOULE site, Dr. Nina Scheer and Olde Oldsen took a closer look at the vehicle fleet powered by wind power and hydrogen. The company's own electricity from renewable energies is also used by the CONNECT Mobility Container for e-bikes. The final item on the agenda was the electrolyser, which has been producing green hydrogen on the site since 2018. "Using hydrogen to bring renewable energies into the mobility, heating and industrial sectors is essential for the energy turnaround. Politicians should now take all measures to promote the production of green hydrogen, especially the EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act) levy exemption from green electrolysis", says Dr. Fabian Sösemann. "The more people experience the regional value chains, the higher the acceptance of renewable energies in general and of hydrogen in particular", says Sösemann. "It is important to me that we don’t lose sight of the major lines of the energy turnaround in the legal design process - existing obstacles must be removed," demands Dr. Scheer.
A stimulating morning, which GP JOULE will gladly repeat at any time.
