Hanover, 22. April 2016 – Redefining the benchmark in hydrogen electrolysis – in the true sense of the word. The ELS30 and its big brother, the ELS450 by GP JOULE are the most compact electrolysis stacks in the world with a capacity of up to one megawatt in the industrially relevant size class. This technology is presented in live operation at the Hanover trade fair.
In this way unused electricity generated from renewable energies can be converted into hydrogen and stored at low cost. This can then be converted back to electricity when necessary or alternatively used as green fuel for hydrogen-powered vehicles or industrial applications. Naturally this also applies to the heat created during the conversion process. This can be easily decoupled from the electrolysis process and used in the existing heat infrastructure such as local or district heat networks.
“Our electrolysis stacks as the centrepiece of our innovative Power-to-Gas technology are proof of this: Renewable energies can already safeguard 100% of the energy supply – even if the wind isn’t blowing or the sun isn’t shining” says GP JOULE founder and managing director Ove Petersen.
With its new business area CONNECT, GP JOULE now also offers the opportunity of combining the benefits of consistent sector coupling of electricity, mobility and heat. Commercial enterprises, companies or local communities can thus profit from attractively priced electricity tariffs and for example power their e-mobility fleets with regionally generated renewable power. And all this is available from one source as CONNECT not only provides the electricity, but the necessary charging infrastructure as well. In this way the entire energy value chain from production, distribution to usage is available under one roof. 100% renewable energies, local and on site – this is the CONNECT approach.
In addition to the company’s already familiar renewable energy areas such as project planning and powerplant construction in Europe, GP JOULE is presenting its international activities above all in North America. As an internationally active mid-size company, GP JOULE has already been active in the this year’s Hanover trade fair partner country, the USA, for years. No wonder that this business area is presented very elaborately on three information pillars. A very special project is the Paraiso Vineyards solar park where the generated energy is used to drive waterpumps which irrigate an entire wine-growing region.
Another highlight: the interactive model of a full-scale energy cycle. Naturally this is powered and backed-up by 100% renewable energies. In a tangible and graphic way using augmented reality technology, GP JOULE illustrates how the electricity generation turnaround can drive a true energy turnaround also incorporating the heat and mobility market. This model, unique anywhere in the world, can be experienced only at the GP JOULE trade fair stand, which is located centrally on the main area of the Integrated Energy Plaza.
