Partnership for the energy turnaround: Greenpeace Energy and GP JOULE pool their expertise

Hamburg/ Reussenköge – Greenpeace Energy and GP JOULE will join forces and have agreed to enter into a cooperation. From 1 January 2019, Greenpeace Energy will supply customers with green power who have so far been served by GP JOULE’s business area CONNECT. In addition, the customers of the Hamburg-based green energy supplier will above all benefit from GP JOULE CONNECT offers in the area of electric mobility.

“With GP Joule we have a strong partner who is pursuing the same goals as we are, namely to rapidly convert our energy supply and to build a clean energy future based on 100 percent renewables”, says Nils Müller, member of the board at Greenpeace Energy. “Since more and more of our customers are moving from combustion engine cars to electric cars, we are very happy to be beginning this cooperation to provide mobility offers”, says Müller. Greenpeace Energy customers who drive an electric car can use GP JOULE CONNECT charging cards in the future.

The CONNECT business area of the energy service provider from Schleswig-Holstein will also provide charging infrastructure solutions for Greenpeace energy business customers. “We want to push the energy turnaround forward together with Greenpeace Energy. That is why we are consciously concentrating on our strengths in this cooperation and are focussing on our competence on smart charging infrastructure solutions. Our e-mobility offers are already being received enthusiastically by the hotel, catering and tourism business. Our benchmark is our own fleet of over 50 e-cars, which is used on a daily basis and is one of the largest in Germany. Greenpeace Energy has been committed to electric mobility for a long time as well as to green logistics and sustainable travel which positively influences the future areas of e-mobility”, is how GP JOULE co-founder and managing director Ove Petersen explains the motivation for entering into this cooperation. “We both share the common vision of 100 percent renewable energy supply and are convinced that Greenpeace Energy – one of the oldest and most dedicated suppliers of green power in Germany – is also the best partner for our green energy end customer business”, says Petersen.

Both partners have agreed to expand cooperation in the future. “By pooling our competences and adding to each other’s portfolio, we can shape the energy turnaround together”, explains Nils Müller. Ove Petersen adds: “The energy turnaround will only work as a joint project, which means involving all members of the public who experience the benefits of renewable power for themselves in their everyday lives, be it in their household or with regard to their means of transportation. Our partnership can make a big contribution in this respect.”
