Wind Surf World Cup 2018

Reußenköge – For the sixth year in a row, GP JOULE is supporting the Wind Surf World Cup on Sylt as a sponsorship partner. Between 28 September and 7 October of this year, on the Westerland promenade, the CONNECT business unit of the North Frisian company will be demonstrating, with its constantly growing product range, just how well 100 percent renewable energies can be combined with a modern lifestyle. A major factor in all of this has been the great variety of electric bicycles that are now available, from folding mini-bikes to large heavy duty or family bikes that serve as direct replacements for cars, or the special edition of ‘Wacken Fat Bikes’. And GP JOULE CONNECT will be displaying this great variety of e-bikes directly to beach visitors.

To enable longer test tours, the ISTS - the Island of Sylt Tourism Service – is providing e-bikes for loan, in cooperation with GP JOULE. They are powered by electricity generated 100 percent from sunlight. A PV system comprising 10 miniJOULEs was installed for this purpose back in 2016 near the ‘Sylter Welle’ water leisure park in Westerland. miniJOULEs are modular solar power systems from GP JOULE, which are generally affordable and ideally suitable for use in private homes. Home owners can now take part in the energy revolution by generating their own electricity and saving money in the process.

With a total installed generator capacity in Westerland of 1.950 watts of module output power, the miniJOULEs ensure that at least as much solar energy is produced on site as is needed to power around 30 GP JOULE loan e-bikes. Other tourist agencies, hotels, catering businesses and local councils can also obtain an e-bike or mobility container from GP JOULE CONNECT, in which the miniJOULE PV modules are directly installed, together with the requisite charging infrastructure (including booking and billing software).

Not only CONNECT but also wind surfer Leon Jamaer supports the idea of living in harmony with nature and the elements. He is the brand ambassador and is himself actively taking part in the Wind Surf World Cup. Visitors to the GP JOULE CONNECT stand will have the opportunity to meet him, as well having a chance to win attractive prizes in a daily competition.

For an active lifestyle, e. g. for camping, GP JOULE CONNECT also offers small PowerPacks as mobile charging stations for mobile phones and freezers, that can be directly loaded by the miniJOULE solar modules.
