Dispute resolution for electricity customers

A consumer is entitled to contact the Energy Arbitration Board (Schlichtungsstelle Energie e.V.) in accordance with § 111b EnWG to conduct an arbitration procedure if the company has not remedied the complaint within the processing period or has declared that it will not remedy the complaint. § 14 para. 5 VSBG remains unaffected. The company is obliged to participate in the procedure before the Arbitration Board. Filing a complaint with the Arbitration Board suspends the statutory limitation period pursuant to § 204 para. 1 no. 4 BGB.
