Asset manager DWS invests in the Ostbevern wind farm
GP JOULE will continue to manage business operations and services

Reußenköge/Ostbevern, 16 January 2025
Successful transaction: GP JOULE has sold the Ostbevern wind farm to asset manager DWS on behalf of one of its European infrastructure investment strategies, which allows both institutional and private investors to engage in sustainable infrastructure initiatives. GP JOULE will maintain responsibility for the business operations and maintenance of the wind farm.
The wind farm, completed in December 2024, is situated in Ostbevern, a municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia. Three wind turbines provide renewable electricity to approximately 11,250 households. The efficient Vestas systems generate up to 32,400 MWh of electricity annually.
GP JOULE handled the planning, financing, and construction of the Ostbevern wind farm and ensures its seamless operation. This holistic approach ensures optimal coordination.
Individuals were able to invest in the wind farm
Through GP JOULE INVEST CROWD, GP JOULE also made sure that value creation from renewable projects like the Ostbevern wind farm benefits as many people as possible.
Investments in the wind farm were facilitated through subordinated loans, offering a fixed return - starting from as little as 250 Euros. The total volume of 300,000 euros to be raised was utilised within a very short time.
Investment in sustainable infrastructure projects
The three wind turbines planned, constructed, maintained, and operated by GP JOULE were recently acquired by asset manager DWS.
“Through investing in the Ostbevern wind farm, we are supporting the transformation of our economy with another transaction. We are delighted to embark on this journey with our partner GP JOULE,” says Dr. Peter Brodehser, fund manager of DWS Infrastructure Europe.
With their investments, DWS and its fund investors promote sustainable infrastructure projects and, consequently, the energy transition. “Our investors benefit from the favourable location with good wind speeds and a secure long-term grid connection for the wind farm,” says Brodehser.
The management of the Ostbevern wind farm will continue under GP JOULE even after the transaction. The company remains responsible for the operation and maintenance of the three wind turbines.
“With DWS we have a reliable partner by our side, having already collaborated on pioneering projects,” states Björn Reuter, Managing Director of GP JOULE INVEST: “We are pleased with the successful transaction and seamless execution, and look forward to continuing our collaboration.”
