Get your local heat connection in Quellendorf now

Reußenköge/ Radegast, 17 May 2023

The future of heating starts right now: After two successful information events with around 300 visitors, Quellendorf is now embarking on the affordable, regenerative heat supply.

The citizens of Quellendorf now have the opportunity to receive individual advice and apply for a connection to the local heating network. The Renergiewerke “Re-energy plant” Fuhne advisors are out and about on site. Anyone who would like to obtain information or offers adapted to their personal needs can book appointments for counselling sessions on the website in the village community centre in Quellendorf, at home or on the phone. The expansion of the local heat networks by Renergiewerke Fuhne is to take place successively in all localities of the town of Südliches Anhalt and is expected to begin with the first heat network in Quellendorf in 2024. The heat supply is planned for the 2024/2025 heating period.

Through a holistic concept of locally generated electricity from wind and photovoltaic plants, cheap heat is produced for the localities of Südliches Anhalt via an industrial heat pump. In this way, the added value remains in the region and the local people benefit from an affordable and secure heat supply in the long term:

  • The heat price of 11 cents/kWh (incl. 7% VAT) is set for ten years until 2035 and remains unchanged (assuming a constant VAT rate).
  • In addition, there are neither connection costs nor a monthly basic fee. There is also no minimum purchase quantity. Only the actual heat consumption is billed.
  • No maintenance and repair costs. These are taken over by Renergiewerke Fuhne.

To make this sustainable and affordable heat supply possible, the city of Südliches Anhalt with Mayor Thomas Schneider and the energy turnaround company GP JOULE are working together on the Renergiewerke Fuhne project. Renergiewerke Fuhne harnesses renewable energy from its own neighbourhood in the urban area of Südliches Anhalt in the form of heat. With its own heat network, every village will in future have the opportunity to supply itself independently of world markets and climate-damaging fuels, and at the same time to heat at a consistently low cost.

"We make sure that the added value stays local by converting the electricity generated into heat and thus making the energy usable in the region. This means that the heat can be offered at very favourable conditions," says Felix Schwahn, Managing Director of GP JOULE HEAT: "The rising prices for oil and gas and, of course, climate change developments show how important it is to make ourselves independent of energy exports and to ensure a sustainable and climate-neutral heat supply."

Renergiewerke Fuhne is planning to establish an integrated energy system in the towns of Südliches Anhalt, Zörbig and Petersberg, in which electricity generation, heat supply and mobility will be linked - sustainable, regional and 100% renewable. In the 46 villages of the three unified municipalities, 57 heating grids, 900 megawatts of generation capacity through photovoltaic and wind power plants and, in the future, production plants for hydrogen and the expansion of a charging infrastructure are to be built.

Appointments for individual counselling are now available at www.suedliches-anhalt-fernwaerme.de, by mail (info@suedliches-anhalt-fernwaerme.de) and by telephone on 04671 6074-456.
