Ministry of Economic Affairs appoints GP JOULE as a supporter in "Team Energy Turnaround Bavaria"

Augsburg/Buttenwiesen, 9 January 2023

Dr. Markus Müller-Walter, Head of the "Economy, Regional Development and Transport" department of the Government of Swabia, has appointed GP JOULE as a supporter in the "Team Energy Turnaround Bavaria". This means that the company is now also officially a pacesetter for the energy turnaround recognised by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs - and the first supporter in Swabia to receive an award.

The certificate was presented in the Kollegialsaal (hall) of the Government of Swabia in Augsburg. Felix Schwahn, Head of HEAT at GP JOULE, received the award. He said: "We are very proud that our commitment to the sustainable development of energy systems has been recognised."

The energy transition is a major task that GP JOULE has been helping to tackle for many years. As a system provider for integrated energy solutions from the sun, wind and biomass, as well as a partner at the supply level for electricity, heat, hydrogen and electromobility, GP JOULE works to create regional and long-term value. With numerous projects, the company based in Buttenwiesen (Dillingen district) in Bavaria and in Reußenköge (Schleswig-Holstein) is a pioneer. "We are very happy to have a company like GP JOULE in Swabia," said Dr Markus Müller-Walter. "With this award, we thank you for your work and wish you every success so that the energy turnaround continues to progress successfully."

Achieving a 100 per cent renewable energy supply is the goal

GP JOULE is committed to the local energy turnaround. "Our ambition is to make the entire energy supply system 100 per cent renewable," said Felix Schwahn: "Power must be generated and consumed regionally. That is why GP JOULE thinks the whole energy system together, uses all the potentials of cross-sector linkage and is thus a pioneer in this field. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has recognised this commitment by including GP JOULE in the "Team Energy Turnaround Bavaria" as the first

"supporters" in all of Swabia. "The supporter designation recognises companies, municipalities, associations, educational institutions and other groups that act as multipliers for society," explained Dr Markus Müller-Walter.

The "Team Energy Turnaround Bavaria" initiative was launched in 2020 by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. It stands for an objective and trustworthy orientation aid in the energy turnaround and is intended to increase the understanding and acceptance of the energy turnaround among the population.
